I was an overworked single mom trying to keep my job during the COVID pandemic. However, all I secretly wanted was to build a business to get out of the 9-5 grind so I could spend more time with my son.
Taking you back to that time I was making NO commission and there were NO companies that were spending money on staffing. To make things worse, I felt terrible because I couldn't give Gray the attention he needed! To add insult to injury working in the staffing industry I couldn't help the newly unemployed find jobs. I felt like an exhausted failure...
A week before my birthday I was laid off. I no longer had a source of income, which meant I couldn't care for my son. I didn't have a backup plan. I remember I was sitting on my bedroom floor crying and staring blankly at the wall.
It was ROCK BOTTOM. Then, as if by chance, something amazing happened...
That's when I picked up my phone and started scrolling through Instagram and remembered I was always #1 for social media marketing in the companies I worked at and I was an award-winning sales person!
It was now crystal clear to me how to earn money through social media because I realized I had access to free advertising to millions of people to start generating sales. I then started my agency Gray Digital Mktg.
In the process I began to learn that likes and comments do not equal sales, you need to build an engaged following that wants to buy from you!
I didn't let that hold me back. I started implementing my in person selling methods.
